Annalise Walker 

Hello there, I'm Annalise, a skilled costume maker and seamstress based in Bolsover, Derbyshire. With a First Class Honours in BA Costume Design and Making from Nottingham Trent University, I bring a blend of technical expertise and creativity to every project.

I work part time as a Technical Specialist on the costume making degree at Nottingham Trent University alongside creating freelance costume and bespoke dressmaking projects from my home based studio. 

 

My portfolio includes a mixture of costume work created for television, museums, theatre, pantomime, performance and dance.I thoroughly enjoy creating for a variety of concepts and I love what ideas my clients bring to the table, I have created historical attire, fantasy creatures, themed costumes, dance wear, large 3D builds and much more.

My skills include pattern drafting, draping, millinery, corsetry, 3D Hardmake, costume distressing, Irish embroidery and historical construction. With proficiency in various machinery and software tools essential for the craft. Beyond seam work, I have a keen interest in surface texture and embellishment, continuously exploring new and innovative ways to create realistic textures for costumes.

Operating from a well-equipped home studio with specialist industrial machinery allows for every garment to be made in a professional environment with high standards. Eager for new challenges, I welcome diverse costume and dressmaking projects, no matter how complex or unique.

 

I can work on an individual client basis or freelance for larger companies. I collaborate with clients to transform their own designs and ideas into reality, or I can provide support in bringing their visions to life.
